Committee on Ministry

The Committee on Ministry is responsible for:

• Authorizing persons for ordained, commissioned, and licensed ministry
• Providing accountability and oversight for those in authorized ministry
• Companioning those considering authorized ministry (Members in Discernment)
• Inviting and facilitating critical participation/conversation of authorized ministers, calling bodies, Members in Discernment; and congregant, Association, and Conference leaders; to foster healthy and effective covenantal relationships
• Monitoring authorized ministers’ completion of Information Reviews and Boundary Training
• Providing periodic support consultations and situational support consultations for authorized ministers and congregations
• Conducting fitness reviews when an authorized minister’s conduct is called into question
• Granting, monitoring, and terminating standing of authorized ministers and churches
